The sukiya bag is a bag for carrying accessories necessary for tea ceremony practice and tea parties. As well as everyday use as a clutch bag, it can also be used for formal occasions such as ceremonial occasions and parties.
There is also a version luxuriously decorated with the traditional craft "kinsai".
Kinsai is a technique to attach gold or silver foil, gold powder, etc. to dyed silk fabric.
Natsuko ueda, a craftsman and artist in Kyoto, created kinsai for us. Everything is drawn by hand. (please note that each item will not be the same pattern.)
▲It is a hand-drawn technique called tubular painting. Draw a line with glue on the part where the money is applied.
▲
When foil is applied after the paste has dried, gold is attached only to the part of the paste, and it becomes gold color. This design USES gold and silver leaf.
Enjoy the unique texture and brilliance of kinsai, which is different from both embroidery and printing.
