Kinsai is a traditional craft that is said to have been established in the azuchi-momoyama period (1573-1603). However, kinsai gradually declined as people shifted away from kimono.

Natsuko ueda, who is active as a kinsai artist and craftsman in Kyoto, hand-painted each item one by one.
The characteristic of Mr. Ueda's kinsai is "mori kin", which has a plump three-dimensional appearance.
